Rick Blount is a lifelong resident of Lake and Sumter Counties — raised in the tradition of Florida land and development. Following in the footsteps of his father Bob Blount, who helped shape Central Florida's built environment starting in the 1950s, Rick carries a family legacy that runs deep.
Before returning to development, Rick retired at 43 from a distinguished corporate career — including time with AFLAC, now a Fortune 500 company. He returned to his true calling: finding and unlocking the highest and best use of Florida's most valuable land. Today, BDG operates at the intersection of strategic land acquisition, flex space development, and the full development spectrum — headquartered right where it all started.
